ABOUT US

Rooted in Aloha. Inspired by the Ocean.

Nāmaka Restaurant N Bar was created from a deep love for Hawai‘i — its people, its flavors, and its spirit. Founded by Chef Aurora Levy Rosin, Namaka is a reflection of her lifelong journey through art, food, and community, blending fine-dining craftsmanship with the warmth
and soul of island hospitality.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Locally Inspired, Tropically Elevated, Gourmet Comfort

True hospitality begins with intention — the care that goes into every plate, every greeting, every detail. Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels welcome, where the food is both indulgent and wholesome, and where every guest leaves feeling lighter, happier, and more connected than when they arrived. Namaka is a celebration of community, heritage, creativity, and the timeless beauty of sharing a meal made with love.

ABOUT US

A Family of Many

Nāmaka is also a story of mentorship, family, and legacy. Aurora’s daughter and her hanai daughter have been by her side throughout her journey, along with many young people and women she has helped over the years to gain skills, confidence, and purpose through food and hospitality. Workingbeside her is Lelo Tangalin, Namaka’s General Manager, whose leadership and experience in high-end hospitality bring depth, professionalism, and aloha to every guest experience. Together, they bring over 60 years of combined expertise, blending old-school service traditions with the island’s casual warmth. Lelo’s daughter — his own protégé — continues that legacy, making Namaka not just a restaurant, but a living classroom where passion, discipline, and aloha thrive side by side.

The name Nāmaka came after years of searching for something meaningful. As the older sister of five girls, Aurora found resonance in Namakaokaha‘i, the ocean goddess and elder sister of Pele. The name represents strength, flow, and transformation — a channel for water,
creativity, and life. When you walk into Namaka, you step into that current: a living, breathing space born of movement, art, and aloha.
